For over 40 years, David L. Cook, OD, FCOVD, FAAO has limited his Atlanta practice to vision therapy. An American Academy of Optometry Diplomate in Binocular Vision and Perception, he has authored When Your Child Struggles, Visual Fitness, and The Shape of the Sky as well as the novel The Anatomy of Blindness. He has spoken around the world and received the A.M. Skeffington Award for outstanding contributions to the optometric literature on vision therapy.
Vision Therapy Basics & The Four Circles in the Treatment of Strabismus
Course Description:
What are realistic goals to set for your strabismic patient?
How do you get 80 percent of available gains with 20 percent of the effort?
How do you not let adaptations such as ARC and eccentric fixation get in your way?
The majority of this course will offer practical, hands-on advice for using vision therapy to enhance performance and cosmesis in school-age and adult patients with constant and intermittent esotropia. We will touch upon amblyopia, preschool esotropia and exotropia. We will discuss in somewhat greater detail how to help school-age and adult patients with intermittent or constant exotropia. Bring your cases and questions for discussion.
