Join Dr. Meredith Graham for an Overview of Vision Aspects of Reading. This course will define reading and provide a framework for the Optometrist’s role in treating vision problems that impact reading. Concepts of visual attention and visual sampling will be introduced, as theories of learning that relate to reading are explored. Dr. Graham will review the research on reading and what we need to know as optometrists. What aspects of performance testing are relevant for reading? How do we communicate to patients and parents? Dr. Graham will outline the elements that are important for Optometrists to understand with a summary retrospective analysis of her clinical patient data and methodology for working with patients.
